Hopefully not. Have faith Arkantos, I'm sure it will be not nearly as annoying, but I'm positive we will see Hard Mode hero builds like Zingers TOF paragons, and MM's. Builds that are more complex, and require alot more skill and coordination!
However, this sounds like its going to be an update so good one cannot describe with mere words!
Man, and these Tomes will allow access 24/7, so awesome!

I have to admit, I am really looking forward to this, but if this turns out to be another aggro, wall, nuke, rinse repeat for hours and hours on end area like DoA, I'll be extremely dissapointed. Here's hoping that Mesmers and Assasins can find their place in higher level gameplay.

I don't know if you ever made cracks about people who go on their time schedule; usually they will say 30 minutes which somehow ends up taking 3 times as long. Well I believe A-net is a prime example of this!
A matter of hours...
Supposed time: 3-4 hours
Loki time: 4-5 hours
A-net time: 48-72 hours
Haha, seriously though I think they'll either release it this evening or in the middle of the night for East coasters... hopefully not Friday night! :3

Summary
Party leader will have Hard mode toggle
Gamer weekend maybe coming soon.
No Day of the Tengu this year or any event planned for the near future.
No Hard mode in Pre-Searing.
Skill Hunter will be split as soon as Hard mode goes live.
No character slots for GW:EN, they would be unnecessary.
Gaile will probably be back later today after the patch goes live.
